Driver extricated from crash with sign outside Selma

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A driver had to be extricated from their car after crashing into an electric sign just outside of Selma Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol announced.

CHP reports around 1:30 p.m. a driver was headed southbound on Highway 99 near Floral Avenue when they lost control.

Officers say the driver ultimately crashed into a digital sign nearby and became pinned in. After being extricated, they were transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

CHP report neither drugs nor alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash.
