Beloved coach and teacher Terence Winn passes away at 59

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Booker T. Washington High School mourns the loss of longtime coach Terence Winn, who died unexpectedly Monday at the age of 59, according to his family.

Coach Winn was considered a father figure to many. He was entering his 33rd year of teaching at the school and had been coaching for more than 30 years. He served as the girls’ head basketball coach and special teams football coach for Booker T. Washington High School.

Throughout his career, Winn earned several accolades, including Booker T. Washington’s Teacher of the Year and Caddo Parish Teacher of the Year finalist. In 2015, he was honored as a Caddo Red Apple Award recipient.
