One rescued, two reported missing after boat capsizes off Oregon Coast

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person was rescued and two people have been reported missing after a boat capsized off the Oregon Coast Sunday night, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

According to USCG, teams responded late Sunday night after reports that a catamaran with three people on board had capsized 3.5 nautical miles off the coast of Gold Beach.

One person was rescued from on top of the boat by a good Samaritan, officials said, and they were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Crews from Air Station North Bend and Station Chetco River responded to the scene to continue searching.

There is no word on the other two people on the boat.

No other details were immediately available.
