Overnight lows will be mostly in the high 50s to low 60s, with interior areas reaching the high 60s. Forecasters say most of the Bay Area will see another hot day on Monday, with inland highs reaching the 90s while the coast and bays stay much cooler.
San Francisco is expected to top out in the low 70s, thanks to a sea breeze. Forecasters say the heat is well above normal but not record-breaking.
Skies are expected to be mostly clear, although some low clouds may linger near the coast. Weather officials continue to advise people to stay out of direct sunlight during the warmest hours and keep hydrated, according to the NWS.
A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through 11 p.m. Monday, warning of strong rip currents, sneaker waves, and dangerous surf along the coastal North Bay, including Point Reyes National Seashore, the San Francisco Peninsula coast, and Northern Monterey Bay.
A long-period southwest swell drives the hazards and will be strongest at southwest-facing beaches. Beachgoers are urged to use caution and never turn their back on the ocean.
