Knox County woman dies after pack of dogs attack her
FLAT LICK, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Knox County woman was killed on Saturday after she was attacked by a pack of dogs.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department said the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 in the Flat Lick community as 44-year-old Priscilla Jones was walking down Sandy Branch Road.

Jones was attacked and severely injured by dogs, which the sheriff’s department said were “roaming the area.”

According to authorities, someone who knew Jones heard her screaming for help and called 911.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Deputies noted that the East Knox Fire Department arrived to find her unable to communicate and with life-threatening injuries.

Officials said Jones was taken to Barbourville ARH Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Jones’ family told FOX 56 News that she didn’t have insurance, and they’re looking to raise money for her funeral. Those interested in donating can do so directly to the Barbourville Funeral Home.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation is ongoing.
