According to officials with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. 52 and County Road 880 West at around 5:38 p.m. on Sunday. At the time, officials reported that an individual was trapped in the car.
The office said a Blue 2010 Ford F-250, driven by a 19-year-old Lafayette resident, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 52. While the vehicle approached CR 880 West, the vehicle crossed the median and rolled multiple times.
The vehicle eventually came to rest on its top in a ditch. The office said this caused a passenger in the vehicle, identified as a second 19-year-old Lafayette resident, to be trapped.
Both Lafayette teens were taken to area hospitals in critical condition, officials with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office said.
