Woman shot, killed on Chicago’s Far South Side

CHICAGO (WGN) — Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed on Chicago’s Far South Side on Sunday evening.

Chicago police say the shooting happened in front of a residence in the 13200 block of South Ellis Avenue just before 7:30 p.m.

The victim was reportedly in a verbal altercation with a known suspect when the suspect pulled out a gun and fired shots.

The victim was struck in the chest and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where she later died.

There are no suspects in custody. Detectives are investigating.
