Texarkana issues boil water notice amid line repairs
TEXARKANA, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality issued a boil water notice to parts of the City of Texarkana due to low pressure/no water pressure from the main water line repair.

All customers should follow these directions; however, children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are especially vulnerable.

The affected areas are:
8600-8928 W New Boston Road
2425, 280-544 Tri State Road
Beaver Lake Drive
Beaver Lake Circle
Beaver Lake Run

Disinfection is recommended for any water that will be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, food preparation, or rinsing food.

To disinfect water and ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and microbes, bring water to a rolling boil and maintain for at least two minutes in a clean container.

After cooling, the disinfected water can be poured back and forth between clean containers or shaken in a bottle to improve taste.

Bottled water, well water, or other sources not sourced from the city water system can be used as an alternative.

When the water is judged safe, the public water system will issue a notice to rescind the boil notice.
