Labor Day expected to be hot with an isolated storm chance
In the tropics, we are following a tropical wave exiting the African coast. It will travel westward this week and could strengthen into a tropical cyclone by week’s end. It is still nearly two weeks away from affecting land areas if it does not stay out to sea, so we have plenty of time to monitor it. Otherwise, the tropics are quiet and there are no threats to Acadiana in the foreseeable future.
Locally, we keep with the summertime heat and humidity and daily isolated storm chances through midweek. Thursday, a weak front looks to settle south of the coast bringing slightly drier air heading into next weekend. Rain chances look to stay pretty low Thursday through next weekend.
