Power outages cause closure of Caddo Parish Schools

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Caddo Parish Schools announced that power outages at two school campuses caused them to cancel classes on Friday.

Donnie Bickham Middle School and Northwood High Schools were both closed due to power outages caused by heavy overnight storms. Students will be dropped off at regular bus stops if parents are unable to return to pick them up.

The district announced that Woodlawn High School will also be closed for the remainder of the day due to an outage. Parents are encouraged to pick up their students if possible; however, regular bus routes will also transport students to school.

Caddo schools said SWEPCO has not provided a restoration time.
