Daytime highs will be in the mid 60s to high 70s on the coast, low 70s to low 80s around the bay, and high 80s to mid 90s inland. Overnight lows will be in the high 50s, with interior areas reaching the low 60s.
Forecasters say the Bay Area will see near-normal temps on Friday before a weekend warmup. Morning clouds near the Berkeley Hills and Monterey Bay are expected to give way to mostly clear skies as the marine layer compresses.
Onshore winds are predicted to strengthen in the afternoon, with gusts up to 30 mph in the Salinas Valley, coastal gaps, and passes. Forecasters warn that fire weather concerns rise this weekend in the interior mountains as humidity drops and winds increase.
According to the NWS, hazardous surf and strong rip currents are also expected from Saturday through Tuesday due to a long-period southerly swell.
