This weekend in Philly: August 30 and 31 🏮🎆🍺

(WPHL) – This weekend (August 30 and 31) is set to be jam-packed with events like the last chance for the Chinese Lantern Festival, the final days of Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, Parks on Tap, DroneArts show, and much more. Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square returns through August 31:

  • For 2025’s Year of the Snake, the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square will showcase magnificent giant lighted sculptures crafted from steel frames and wrapped in vibrant silk, blending light and culture. The popular 200-foot-long dragon returns along with never-before-seen giant lantern displays, with more lights, more lanterns, and more wattage than ever before. Visitors will embark on a magical journey through enchanting forest-themed displays and a radiant underwater realm, where lanterns and interactive delights showcase the splendor of China’s culture alongside diverse wildlife and vibrant marine wonders.
  • Tickets start at $16 and go up to $29 depending on age and day of visit.

IBX RiverRink Summerfest and Spruce Street Harbor Park close for the season:

  • Summerfest will be open through September 1
  • Admission is FREE, and skating, games, and concessions are pay-as-you-go.
  • Skating will be $5, and skate rentals are $12.

  • Parks on Tap at Penn Treaty
    • August 27- September 1
    • Located HERE.
    • Parks on Tap began on April 9 with 20+ parks on the schedule.
    • On the menu, there is everything from an Adult Lunchable to a Loaded Mexican Hot Dog, and Cauliflower Banh Mi, to drinks including Hibiscus Lemonade, Spicy Mango Margarita, as well as Philly favorite drafts, cans, and more.

DroneArts will perform a dazzling display on Friday and Saturday:

  • The skies of Philadelphia will be lit up with an awesome display of drones this Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the sounds of a strong quartet while you watch the high-tech show from Fairmount Park.
  • DroneArt Show is in town for two nights only, August 29 and 30, and tickets are still available here.🎆
