The Commonwealth had more than 58,000 Powerball winning tickets in the Aug. 27 drawing, including one ticket raking in $2 million, another that scored $1 million and three that each won $50,000.
The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing were 9-12-22-41-61 — with the Powerball number being 25.
The $2 million ticket was won close to home at a Weis Market in Spotsylvania. To stop by for a chance of your own, the specific market with the winning ticket is at 9801 Courthouse Road.
Though not in the DMV, the million-dollar winner secured their ticket at a 7-Eleven in Carrollton along Carrollton Boulevard.
Honorable mentions include the three people who each won $50,000 across Virginia, including at a Royal Farms in Fredericksburg, a Springfield Shell along Backlick Road and online at valottery.com by an Alexandria resident.
Despite their wins, no one matched all six numbers to win the mega jackpot, which is now up to $950 million.
Feeling lucky? The next Powerball drawing is Saturday night, with prizes ranging from $2 to the nearly one billion jackpot. The odds of matching all six numbers to win are slim at one in 292,201,338 — but the odds of winning any prize are one in 25.
Powerball tickets can be found at more than 5,300 retailers, online or in the app.
