Car stolen during delivery in Fairfax County; man in custody, police say

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — An Alexandria man was arrested after reports of a carjacking in Groveton on Monday morning, police said.

Shortly after 11 a.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard. The victim told investigators that he was assaulted while making a delivery. After the assault, the suspect then got in the victim’s vehicle and drove off.

Virginia State Police was able to find the vehicle in Alexandria using information from the Real Time Crime Center. 34-year-old David Lewis, of Alexandria, was taken into custody after a traffic stop.

He was charged with carjacking. Lewis was also served an outstanding warrant for probation violation and was held without bond.
