
Topeka’s first annual Black Rodeo will be at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Stormont Vail Events Center. Tickets will be available at the Cable Dahmer Box Office
The RCA is an educational, cultural and historical organization dedicated to the showcase of African American cowboys’ and cowgirls’ western heritage. Founder Frank Penny Edwards has been producing rodeos for the last 26 years across the southern part of the nation. This will be the group’s first event in Kansas.
Contestants will compete for first place in bull riding, calf roping, ranch bronc riding, ladies and jr. barrel racing, kids muttin bustin and more. It will also feature a performance by hip hop artist Poppa Hussein. The RCA show is being marketed as a family-friendly event.
