Mendota Police to serve ice cream at local community event

MENDOTA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Mendota Police Department is serving scoops of ice cream to attendees at a community event on Thursday afternoon.

“You Got Served an Ice Cream by a COP!” is a community event that organizers hope will bring people out of the heat and into the ice cream shop.

Officers will be scooping ice cream for event attendees and giving residents a chance to get to know the officers in their city better.

The event will take place at the El Primo Ice Cream located at 2020 7th Street in Mendota from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Officials with the police department say the event is a reflection of the department’s commitment to the community.
