The service is taking place at Utah State University, and Officer Estrada will later be laid to rest in a cemetery in Logan. Officials are warning those travelling in the area to expect traffic delays.
On Aug. 17, Officer Eric Estrada and Sergeant Lee Sorenson were shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Tremonton. Today, Officer Estrada’s life is being remembered and honored.
“People are hurt. People are suffering from it all. But there’s been a lot of good as a result of all this,” said Mayor Lyle Holmgren.
The funeral service will include family speakers, remarks from Governor Spencer Cox, and more. Following the service, invited guests will attend the graveside ceremony.
