Officials said the crash claimed the life of Bonnie Fontenot, of Jennings, who had previously been reported missing.
Officials said the investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle traveling on the I-10 frontage road struck Fontenot and left the scene. Fontenot sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. This crash remains under investigation

ORIGINAL STORY: JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A woman reported missing in Jeferson Parish earlier this week has been found dead according to authorities.
Officials said, today at 12:40 p.m., the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office located a deceased female in the median between North Frontage Road and I-10 near mile marker 44.
Officials said during the investigation they were able to confirm the identity of the female as Bonnie Fontenot, 53, who was last seen on August 22, at the Lost Shoe RV Park.
The circumstances surrounding Fontenot’s death remain unclear, and the sheriff’s office has not released any information about potential leads or suspects.
