Downed wires cause road closures in Anne Arundel County

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Downed wires in Anne Arundel County have caused road closures on Wednesday evening.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said Generals Highway between Herald Harbor Road and the on-ramp to I-97 North in Crownsville has been shut down because of downed wires.

Crews are working to clear the roadway.

Drivers are encouraged to find other ways around to avoid delays.

Police said they do not know when the roadway will reopen.
