All clear after swatting hoax at Auburn University

AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – Auburn University issued an all-clear Wednesday Aug. 27 after a false report of a threat near the Ralph Brown Draughon Library.

Police rushed to the scene following the emergency call, but officials confirmed the incident was a swatting — a hoax call designed to trigger an armed response.

Authorities say there was never any danger to students or staff, and normal activity on campus has resumed.
