Ville Platte man arrested following a boat motor theft
EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KLFY) — Ville Platte man arrested in connection to a boat motor theft investigation, authorities said.

Jeffrey Thibodeaux of Ville Platte was arrested and charged with one felony count of Illegal possession of stolen things and has recently been released on a $25,000 bond, deputies said.

According to deputies, they were dispatched to a residence off Lanse Bleu Rd. for a theft of an outboard boat motor on July 18.

Deputies said the victim stated that someone allegedly took his gray 20 HP Honda outboard motor off his boat and replaced it with a Honda Gray 8 HP outboard Honda motor which was not in working condition.

During the investigation, detectives located the Honda 20 HP motor with the help of the public. The motor was in the possession of a suspect who was identified as Thibodeaux, deputies said.

This investigation is ongoing.
