RAYNE, La. (KLFY) — A man arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder and criminal damage to property following a shooting that occured Tuesday morning, police said.

Police arrested Roger Lane Davis, 20, and booked him into the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Department jail with a bond set at $405,000, authorities said.

According to police, they responded to multiple calls reporting shots fired in the 500 block of North McGown Street yesterday morning.

During the investigation, police identified Davis as the suspect allegedly involved. Police suspected Davis became allegedly involved after a physical altercation with another individual. After the fight, Davis reportedly retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and fired multiple rounds at the fleeing victim and into a nearby residence occupied by four people, police said.

Davis then allegedly fled the scene in a 2017 Dodge Challenger but was apprehended shortly afterward when officers located him after he crashed into a ditch on North Arenas Street, police reported.

No injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
