The viewing is scheduled to begin today at 3 p.m. at Bear River High school. Today all schools in Box Elder School District are on their early out schedule. On Thursday and Friday, school has been cancelled throughout the district due to the funeral services that will be held for Sgt Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada. All Tremonton City offices will be following a similar schedule.
Sorensen studied at Bear River High and the Principal of the school told ABC4 that it is a great way to honor his legacy.
City leaders have spent Wednesday morning setting up flags in front of the school in preparation for today’s viewing. “It’s going to take weeks and months and maybe even years to recover. The grieving will go on for all of us for a long time but especially for the families. We want them to know that we are there for them, we support them, we’re side by side with them,” Tremonton Mayor Lee Holmgren told ABC4.
Volunteers plan to set up over a 100 American flags all around the High School.
