Legal Analyst: NC Supreme Court rules against golfer hit in the eye by ball

RALEIGH/ WILSON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The North Carolina Supreme Court has ruled against a golfer who was struck in the eye by a ball, saying he’s responsible for his own injuries.

The justices found Glenn Moseley was negligent by sitting in a cart just 30 yards from the tee while focused on his phone.

Moseley had sued another golfer and the city of Wilson, but the court said the danger was “open and obvious,” and his claims are barred by contributory negligence.
