NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Chad Haskins, a 32-year-old resident of Natchitoches, following a disturbance involving a firearm early Monday morning.
At approximately 1 a.m. on August 25, 2025, officers responded to reports of an individual waving around a firearm in the 200 block of Younger Boulevard.
Upon arrival, they encountered Haskins, who police say was walking up and down the street, behaving erratically and appeared to be punching the air as if he were in a fight.
As officers attempted to place Haskins under arrest, they say he resisted.
After a brief struggle, law enforcement was able to take him into custody.
During the arrest, officers discovered 29 grams of marijuana and 15 pills.
Additionally, a Bersa Thunder .380 pistol was found on the ground near him.
Haskins is facing several charges, including Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of Synthetic Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances, Resisting an Officer, Battery on a Police Officer, and Terrorizing.
He is currently being held at the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Detention Center.
