Emporia hosting virtual skateboarding competition

EMPORIA (KSNT) – Skateboarders are invited to show off their skills in a best trick competition that just started rolling.

The competition will be hosted virtually in collaboration with the local ESK8 skate shop. Participants will be able to submit their best trick videos before Sept. 2 with winners announced on Sept. 5.

Participants must film their tricks at an Emporia skate park and submit a video clip under 60 seconds. The competition features two age groups: 16 and under, and over 16, with winners receiving skateboard decks and additional prizes for runners-up.

  • Max length: 60 seconds.
  • No copyrighted music unless permitted.
  • No profanity, illegal activity or unsafe behavior.
  • One entry per person.

The winner of the 16 and under group will receive a skateboard deck, and the over-16 group will receive a signed deck from the South Side Skate Group. Competitors will have the opportunity to be featured on the City’s official pages.
