“We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our “Old Timer” will remain. At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon,” Cracker Barrel said online.
On August 21, Cracker Barrel announced that, in efforts for an ongoing makeover, the chain’s new logo would ditch the barrel itself. The Associated Press wrote that the man leaning on that barrel is also gone, as are the words “Old Country Store.” Instead, the new emblem features a simpler design with just “Cracker Barrel” written on a gold background, which also has a semi-updated shape.
Cracker Barrel’s stock plummeted $94 million on Thursday after the country staple restaurant pushed out an unexpected rebrand of its logo, The Hill reported.
On August 25, the company released a statement regarding the backlash online. You can read that full statement here.
