Victim identified in deadly Eureka Springs hit-and-run, suspect still sought

EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. – Arkansas State Police officials have released the name of the victim in a deadly hit-and-run over the weekend.

Police identified the victim as 61-year-old Penny Bowling of Holiday Island.

Troopers were called to the scene near Nightingale Road around 2:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

The Carroll County Coroner pronounced Bowling dead at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Police are searching for the driver of a newer model white Chevrolet pickup truck believed to be involved in Bowling’s death.

Authorities are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or has information related to the investigation to contact Troop L at 479-751-6663.
