Search warrants lead to major drug bust in Ascension Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested three men after an investigation into a drug-dealing operation involving a suspect identified as Yezzun Ammuri.

Yezzun Adel Ammuri, 27, faces several charges, including:

  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana – warrant (2 counts)
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana

  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute cocaine (schedule II controlled dangerous substance)
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substance
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute amphetamine/adderall (schedule II controlled dangerous substance)
  • drug paraphernalia

Omar Adel Ammuri, 25, has been charged with:

  • distribution/distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms
  • unlawful possession, production, or distribution of kratom
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substance
  • illegal carrying of weapons in presence of controlled dangerous substance
  • illegal possession of stolen firearms

Saleh K. Alkhativ, 33, has been charged with:

  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms
  • unlawful possession, production, or distribution of kratom
  • distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substance
  • illegal carrying of weapons in presence of controlled dangerous substance
  • illegal possession of stolen firearms

On August 19, detectives executed four search warrants at locations tied to the operation, including Almighty Storage in Prairieville, Diganja Smoke Shop in Geismar, an apartment in Gonzales, and a home in Geismar.

During the searches, deputies seized marijuana, cocaine, THC vape products, kratom, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription medication, additional controlled substances, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two guns were found, one of which was reported stolen.

The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control also confiscated 676 unapproved products at the Diganja Smoke Shop.

All three suspects were booked into the Ascension Parish jail.
