“More than 10 counties in Kansas were represented on the contest stage,” Max Paley, executive director told 27 News. “We had a record number of volunteers this year at 60 to help with all manner of operations from setup, t-shirt vending, trash and recycling, tear down, and building our two stages. Stages were provided by Stage 7 In the Pecan Grove, who drove up from Winfield, KS, and Stage 2 Go courtesy of the Link family of Williamsburg, KS.”
The event has highlighted by a performance from Tim O’Brien from Hot Rize. O’Brien performed solo and with his wife Jan Fabricius.
The festival is 100% volunteer-run festival, with nobody on the board of directors receiving a paycheck and over 500 volunteers hours invested between planning and the day of the event. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, you can check out their website.
