The search involves the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Department, Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Department, United Cajun Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, who were alerted on Sunday after Jett went overboard while fishing with friends.
The U.S. Coast Guard conducted multiple aerial searches before dark, and divers along with search boats are continuing the efforts throughout the day.
United Cajun Navy says, “We are coordinating with the U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans in the search for a missing fisherman, 12 miles South of Marsh Island, off the coast of Louisiana. The map track shown is the grid being run by our good friends at Southern Sea Plane out of Belle Chasse, La.”
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office has stated that no further information will be released until the search is complete.
