Coleman PD initially reported on Thursday, Aug. 21, that Robert Mack Walters, a 44-year-old Coleman resident, was being sought on one count of causing injury to an elderly family member and one count of making a terroristic threat against a family member.
The police department stated that Walters had evaded arrest on foot in Coleman during the late afternoon on Aug. 21 after law enforcement officials “attempted to take him into custody on multiple outstanding warrants.”
The agency also advised citizens to “remove the keys from all vehicles, remove all valuables, and lock the doors of vehicles, businesses, residences, and outbuildings at all times” in its first report, stating that Walters was “considered a dangerous individual” who residents should not attempt to approach or apprehend.
In an update issued at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, Coleman PD announced that Walters had been taken into custody “after being arrested without incident” by the department.
The Coleman County online inmate custody list states that Walters was booked on Aug. 23. As of the time of publication, he is held there on one charge of causing injury to a child, elderly individual or disabled individual and one charge of terroristic threat of a family or household.
He has a $20,000 bond for the charge of causing injury to a child, elderly individual or disabled individual and a $8,000 bond for the charge of terroristic threat of a family or household, for a combined total of $28,000.
