The City of Pineville announced the temporary closure and said the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries was notified. Agency staff were on-site conducting water quality testing.
City officials said the closure was made out of caution for public safety and environmental concerns.
“We will provide an update as soon as we have more information,” the city said in a statement.
No timetable was given for when the lake may reopen.
