SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — An unknown number of cars were damaged by a sinkhole that opened up on Lincoln Way south of Golden Gate Park on Friday evening, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the area of Lincoln Way and 12th Avenue around 5:47 p.m. and found a 3-foot deep by 3-foot-wide sinkhole in the street. One lane of traffic remains closed on Lincoln Way while the San Francisco Department of Public Works deals with the sinkhole.

SFFD said that an unknown number of cars were damaged by the sinkhole because the divers left the area before firefighters arrived.
