Officers say 19-year-old Adeliz Castillo, a Porterville resident, was arrested after a single-vehicle crash and accused of driving impaired and causing injuries, driving unlicensed and child endangerment.
Officers responded to the 17500 block of Orange Belt Dr. at around 9:30 p.m. There, they contacted Castillo. A records check revealed that he was unlicensed.
During the contact, officers also observed signs indicating he was under the influence, and Castillo was asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he did not complete satisfactorily.
Police say he also had a juvenile passenger in his vehicle, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries due to the crash. The juvenile was treated and released at the scene, and Castillo was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Porterville Police Department at 559-782-7400.
