LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery said a Gassville woman had a big win after purchasing a $3 scratch-off game ticket.

Officials said J. Miller of Gassville won $75,000 playing 10X Cashword instant game. Miller claimed her prize on Aug. 19.

Miller told officials that lottery luck runs in her family, with the mother recently winning $20 on a scratch-off ticket and gifting the winnings to her daughter. Her mother likes to play the higher-priced tickets in hopes of a bigger payout, which she prefers the lower-priced tickets, she told officials.

Miller said she used the $20 to purchase six 10X Cashword games, then took them home and scratched them, finding the winning $75,000 ticket.

She was so shocked, she told officials, that she took the ticket back to the lottery retailer clerk to confirm it was a winner.

“Oh, you won big,” the clerk reportedly said.

Miller told officials the money was going toward fixing her mother’s roof and building a walk-in shower.
