La Porte and Galveston rank in top 10 coastal cities list

DALLAS (KDAF) — A new ConsumerAffairs’ study named La Porte, Texas as the 5th best coastal city to move to in 2025.

La Porte is one of the most affordable communities analyzed in the study, with a median rent of $1,734 (the third-lowest in the entire ranking). Texas also stands out statewide with the lowest state-local tax burden, at just 8.6%.

Galveston also ranked high, coming in 7th place. However, it’s Pensacola, Florida that takes home the top spot.
