Kamala Harris coming to Alabama Theatre Oct. 17

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Former vice president and one-time presidential hopeful Kamala Harris will come to Birmingham this fall.

Harris, who served as vice president under former President Joe Biden and stepped up to run as the Democratic nominee for president when Biden dropped out of the race within months of the 2024 election, will come to the Alabama Theatre Oct. 17 to promote her upcoming memoir, “107 Days.” The book, co-written by Geraldine Brooks, chronicles her time running for president before she was defeated by President Donald Trump.

Following the end of her campaign, some speculated that Harris would run for governor of California in 2026, but she said she wouldn’t run for office.
