Fatal motorcycle crash shuts down Northeast Marine Drive

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash near the intersection of Northeast Marine Drive and Northwest 158th Avenue, Portland Police announced Wednesday afternoon.

When officers arrived, they found a crash involving a motorcycle and a car, according to Portland Police.

Portland Fire and Rescue attempted lifesaving measures but determined the motorcyclist died at the scene.

Northeast Marine Drive is closed from Northeast 148th Avenue and Northeast 185th Drive while the Major Crash Team investigates.

Twenty-three people have died in traffic accidents so far this year in Portland. Six have included motorcyclists, according to police.
