Ville Platte woman arrested on drug, gun charges
VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) — A Ville Platte woman was arrested and over 100 grams of drugs and a firearm were seized from a storage unit, deputies said.

Shaunesia Offord, 29, is charged with possession of with intent to distribute marijuana and MDMA as well as possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs.

Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office searched a storage container Aug. 8 in the 700 block of Chataignier Street in Ville Platte.

Agents found a plastic container that contained 170.2 grams of marijuana, 1,733 MDMA “ecstasy” pills and a Smith & Wesson AR-15 rifle, authorities said.

Offord was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on $85,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing with more arrests could follow, officials said.
