Wednesday temperatures: We will see one more day of scorching heat on Wednesday. Temperatures will once again begin in the mid to upper 70s. Daytime highs on Wednesday will not be quite as hot, but will still be near the century mark. We will then settle into the middle 90s on Thursday.
Rain chances to increase: Futurecast shows that any rain that has developed across the ArkLaTex on Tuesday afternoon will end quickly after sunset. Expect a clear to partly cloudy sky on Tuesday night. Showers and thunderstorms will increase from north to south on Wednesday, but will remain somewhat scattered. They will be most numerous during the heat of the afternoon and then slowly decrease on Wednesday evening and Wednesday night. The chance of scattered storms will return on Thursday, but will likely be focused across the southern third of the area in E TX and NW LA. Futurecast shows that most of the area will receive ¼” of rain or less, but we will see pockets that receive more than 1”.
Long-range outlook: Look for dry weather to settle back into the ArkLaTex on Friday and stick around through the beginning of next week. Our next chance of rain will return by the middle of next week. Temperatures should stay pretty close to normal with highs in the middle 90s. We could see a few days in the upper 90s this weekend. Highs could dip into the 80s next week if we see the clouds and rain that some models are indicating. Overnight lows will not change much and will remain in the low to middle 70s.
