Madewell opens its second location in the affluent SF neighborhood, complementing the already existing store a couple of doors down at 2084 Chestnut St. That store currently only sells women’s clothing.
According to Madewell’s website, the men’s store is opening daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. — except Sundays (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
This is Madewell’s first dedicated men’s store in the Bay Area, the company said. The store spans 2,191 square feet with a selection of men’s denim, apparel, footwear and other accessories. It will provide services at a typical Madewell store, such as denim trade-in, hemming, in-store pickup and one-on-one styling.
The Madewell men’s store takes over the space that was previously occupied by a Vans store. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the sneaker retailer shuttered earlier this year. Before that, Le Marais Bakery occupied that space.
Madewell opens the men’s store in the Marina District after closing down its SF Centre mall location last year, KRON4 reported. That store closed on Jan. 22, 2024.
The Madewell Men’s store is currently hiring. Job postings are up on the company’s Workday website. Position openings include sales associate and assistant manager.
Other Madewell locations in the Bay Area include Corte Madera, Berkeley, Burlingame, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Palo Alto and San Jose.
