Joshua Jaynes and Kyle Meany are accused of lying on the search warrant used by police to burst into Taylor’s apartment.
On Wednesday, Louisville FOX affiliate WDRB reported that U.S. District Court Judge Charles Simpson ruled the officers should not be charged with violating Taylor’s civil rights and causing her death.
Jaynes and Meany were reportedly not at the raid.
According to Simpson’s ruling, “The government cannot attribute Taylor’s death to the lack of a warrant supported by probable cause.”
Jaynes and Meany now face misdemeanor charges in this case.
Last year, Simpson dismissed similar charges against the two, but federal prosecutors reindicted them.
