Man accused of killing woman inside Germantown apartment

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Police have identified the man wanted for killing a woman inside her Germantown apartment last week.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on August 11, around 6:30 p.m., officers were flagged down by someone who reported hearing gunshots coming from inside a home located on the 6300 block of Germantown Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a woman shot multiple times. She was pronounced dead less than 10 minutes later.

The victim was later identified as 48-year-old Rashida Irvin. Investigators believe the motive was domestic in nature.

On Monday, police announced that Kyle Irvin, 55, has an active arrest warrant for the homicide.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online or by calling 215-686-TIPS. Police are also urging the public not to approach Irvin if seen, and to contact 911 immediately.

As with all homicides in the City of Philadelphia, a $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
