In a post to social media, the Lee County EMA says residents that need a weather radio, will be able to obtain one. In addition to this, residents that need their weather radios checked for proper programming or those who would like to sign up for alerts will be able to get assistance.
The radio giveaway is a part of an ongoing effort to strengthen emergency weather preparedness across Lee County.
The weather radio distribution event will be Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 at Beulah Fire Station 1 and Beauregard Fire Station 4, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A limited amount of supplies will be available. This will be a first come, first served event and officials ask that individuals bring a photo I.D. to prove you are a resident of that community.
Another weather radio distribution event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025. This event will serve residents in the Salem and Loachpoka communities. The distributions will be at Wachoochee Elementary and Loachpoka Community Park, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
