BIG COUNTRY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Many Big Country school districts have adopted some version of a four-day instructional week, but the schedules vary.

Some districts take every Friday, Monday, or a combination of the two off year-round. These include:

  • Brookesmith ISD
  • Benjamin ISD
  • Westbrook ISD
  • Loraine ISD
  • Moran ISD
  • Breckenridge ISD
  • Trent ISD

In Benjamin ISD, these days are also listed as “incentive days” off.

Roby CISD, Haskell CISD, Rotan ISD, and Aspermont ISD start the school year with traditional five-day weeks before switching to four-day weeks later on.

Other districts, like Brownwood, TLCA Abilene and Miles ISD, opted instead for early release one day each week.
