Arlington man charged with murder in connection to his mother’s death: police

ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — An Arlington man was charged after he was accused of murdering his mother in the Ballston-Virginia Square area, according to the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD).

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, officers were called to the 3400 block of Fairfax Drive to investigate a shooting. There, police found Travis Renee Baldwin, 57, of Winchester, inside an apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was taken to the hospital, where she died.

A preliminary investigation determined that Baldwin’s son, Logan Chrisinger, shot her inside the apartment, ACPD stated.

Chrisinger was arrested at the crime scene. Police charged the 27-year-old with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He was taken to the Arlington County Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

Police said Baldwin’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an official cause and manner of death.
