APD: 1 dead after crash involving 18-wheeler on north I-35

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person died after a crash involving an 18-wheeler happened in the lower deck of the 3400 block of north Interstate-35 southbound lanes Saturday, a press release from the Austin Police Department said.

Police responded to the crash at 12:14 a.m. The driver of the sedan, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. 

On Saturday, Austin police posted on X that officers responded to a crash with serious injuries on the lower deck of the 3400 block of I-35 southbound proper. 

This marks Austin’s 62nd fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 66 deaths.
