$1.3M bond and maximum security restrictions for man booked in Bossier

DISCLAIMER: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Originally released from jail on a lower bond, a Benton man is now back in a maximum security facility after additional charges were found.

The Benton Police Department initiated an investigation into Kenneth Wayne O’Briant in August 2025 after allegations of sexual abuse of a child.

The department says initial findings led to his arrest and booking, and he was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

Continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office Forensics Unit, additional findings led to warrants for additional charges.

O’Briant was then re-arrested for First Degree Rape and Child Grooming and is currently being held at the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility under a $1.3 million bond.

The investigation is ongoing. The department says they are working to determine if other victims may be involved.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Benton Police Department at 318-965-0579.
