Brooks Houck, then-boyfriend of the missing mother of five, and Joseph Lawson, Houck’s former employee, were convicted for their roles in the Bardstown woman’s death in July, 10 years after her disappearance.
The pair was supposed to be sentenced on Thursday, Aug. 21, but a Monday notice from a Nelson County judge has delayed sentencing for another month.
According to the court order, sentencing was rescheduled due to “serious health issues” that Lawson is experiencing. The hearing was moved to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Rogers was last seen on July 3, 2015, and her mother reported her missing two days later after her vehicle was found at mile marker 14 on the Bluegrass Parkway. Her body has yet to be found.
A Warren County jury suggested that Houck be sentenced to life in prison and Lawson to 25 years.
